  1. One of the many things you lose when your child dies is the capacity to make new memories – to make new anything. There are only the old stories to tell, time and time over – the books you read, the things they made… all going back into the past. Sometimes as a bereaved parent you struggle to bring them with you, and you make new, or render new from old. You buy them little trinkets for their grave, you turn their clothes into a patchwork quilt to hug, or collage the photos they took to make something different… but what a special gift when a friend offers something new of their own – a new story, perfectly rendered from the old Josh. Beautiful. Made me cry a little bit xx
